7-9.09.2015 - HISER participates in the ISWA World Congress 2015 (Antwerp)

Rocío Barros from ACCIONA and Jef Bergmans from VITO (HISER partners) will both hold a presentation at ISWA’15 World Congress in Antwerp.
ISWA 2015 Antwerp will guarantee a balanced mix of internationally renowned keynote speakers, representatives of institutions and agencies worldwide that determine waste and materials policy, interesting insights into the latest scientific and technological developments in the sector, and above all, a lot of opportunities for networking and exchange of experience.
Rocío Barros and Jef Bergmans will present techniques and products developed in the IRCOW project and validated in 2 case studies: the extension of a penitenciary center in Teruel (Spain) and the construction of a waste collection centre in the Port of Antwerp (Belgium).  Both case studies included the demolition of an old building and the construction of a new one. These construction sites allowed the validation of advanced recycling technologies for the C&DW stony fraction and assessment of recycling technologies for C&DW fractions, together with the demonstration of the efficiency of products and components manufactured with C&DW recycled materials. Furthermore, ACCIONA used their case study for the validation of a new business model (with regard to an integrated service for recycling C&DW into high-grade applications). During the presentations, the continuity of the research linked to the work of HISER will be explained.
