On 22th of November 2016, Construction Products Europe organised a workshop to discuss initiatives related to resource efficiency. The first part of the event covered the initiatives of the EC (DG Growth and DG Environment) while the second included the presentation of three research projects: HISER, BAMB and FISSAC.
In recent months, the European Commission and European Parliament have financed numerous initiatives on or around the topic of resource efficiency in the construction industry, more particularly looking at waste and recycling. The workshop organised by CPE gave a full picture of these projects and their latest news, while gathering together the research and industry actors involved in the challenge.
The event included detailed presentations by Commission officials and project leaders. Ms. Amaia Lisbona from TECNALIA Research & Innovation provided an overview of HISER project in her capacity as project coordinator. H2020 BAMB and FISSAC projects, with links to HISER, were also presented to the audience.
The event concluded with a debate, where participants looked into the project recommendations and the approach of industry. More information and presentations are available at CPE website.
