Goals

EU28 currently generates 461 milion tons per year of Construction and Demolition Waste (C&DW), excluding excavated material, and the generation rates are expected to reach 516 Mt in 2020 and around 570 Mt between 2025 and 2030. C&DW is ever more complex and there is a need for shifting from traditional recycling approaches to novel recycling and recovery solutions. This will guarantee a higher efficiency in the recovery of mineral, metallic and organic resources contained in this priority waste steam. Therefore, the HISER project proposes integral solutions throughout the whole building value chain.

HISER will increase use of recovered raw materials by:

The project has received funding from the European Union's  Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No 642085.
